Hi, I'm Charlotte and I'm part of the Scoresby Primary School's Canstruction team
My Goals for this year in Canstruction are... ~ To use the 16 "Habits Of Mind" to build our structure.
~ To work as a team during Canstruction.
~ To learn about volume and area.
~ To successfully complete our Canstruction.
~ To try hard but also have fun. The theme for Canstruction this year is "My Home Australia."
We were thinking of ideas on what we should do and we have decided that we are
going to build Sam the koala from the black saturday bushfires with an outline of
Australia around the outside of him.If we are unable to build that then we will make
a Golden Circle can. We all hope you like our ideas.
Our Launch
On the Monday the 10th of August 2009 our Canstruction group made our launch.
We talked about what we are going to build out of cans and how we are going to do it.
We also showed a slideshow with pictures of Canstructions in previous years.
Everyone at our school loved it. We also told them to try and bring a can to school
so that we can practice building some things with them. We are going to hand out
posters to each class explaining to them what canstruction is about. We also talked
about where the cans will go after we have build our structure, they are going towards
the bushfire victims that were affected by the Black Saturday bushfires. We talked
about planet give and told them that they should all become members because it's
a great site. Overall I think our launch was a big success!
